Founded in 1924, Ortho is a membership organization of professionals from psychiatry, psychology, social work, sociology, nursing, and law who are concerned about the application of mental health research to the creation of humane social policy, the improvement of mental health practice in a manner consistent with human rights, and the prevention of mental health problems.  We invite you to join us!

Ortho is also, for the first time, partnering with the Society for Community Research and Action (Division 27 of the American Psychological Association) to host the organization's biennial conference in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada, June 21-24, 2017. Call for Nominations

Ortho is now accepting nominations for the Vera Paster award, which is presented annually to a graduate student or post-graduate resident or fellow in a behavioral health or social justice program whose work has significantly contributed to the social, educational, physical, or psychological well-being of persons of color, thereby promoting their empowerment and ameliorating their disadvantages from oppression and its effects.
